Tools to Discover Your Self

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Knowing oneself is not a little thing! There are layers and layers: the small Self (ego), the big Self (eternal consciousness), and within all this is the personality, body and your personal dharma or mission.

It’s not surprising how confused people have become when all these things are happening at once. However, when we come to identify with who we really are and be freed from what we are, not everything is simple and wonderful.

The tools below are mainly focusing on what you have to ‘deal with’. If you understand the natural tendencies of your personality and how you function as a human being, then your experience of life will become much more balanced and pleasant. These tools may not lead you to enlightenment (non-linear, pure consciousness outside of all forms and limitations), but they WILL help you to have compassion for yourself, your tendencies and how best to navigate life with whatever karma you have accumulated.

I have found this extremely useful, and it has allowed me to settle back into my dharmic path much quicker and easier than if I had not studied this.

You will learn that it’s OK to be different and to be in alignment with YOUR energies and not feel the need to conform to others. The more you understand how YOU work best in the world, the easier it will be to make use of your specialties, rather than hiding them.

Be free, be who you were born to be and love every moment of it!

Human Design

A very in-depth system that can tell you how to find your perfect balance. Covers pretty much all aspects of your life. Without going into much detail, you can discover your basic ‘type’ which, in itself, is extremely useful to know how to utilize your time and skills best. I have found this especially helpful.

What does this year hold for YOU?

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Only YOU can live your destiny. Only you will be able to live the life that is true to you. And only you know the answers about what you need to do with your life – and what you need to stop doing. Only you know what makes you weak and what makes you strong.

Your life is in your own hands alone – and the more you take hold your yourself, the more fulfilled you will be – the more magic will prevail in your experience and the more joy will sing in your heart!

If you don’t know the answers to these questions below, then you are very likely to be wasting your precious time and your precious life. Please don’t let that happen: You are too important to waste away like the rest of the sheeple. You have your own destiny and your own gifts to give to the world, so let yourself shine brightly and enjoy all that life offers from NOW…

These simple questions will get you on track and help you start living in alignment with your highest destiny from today and on into the rest of your life….

What you will need

• Pen and paper

• 1 hour of uninterrupted time to relax and go deep

• Interest in making 2009 the best year ever

• Optional: Some music to relax and let go… to take you deeper on your journey

• Optional: A candle or some kind of fire to burn the things you want to let go of (be careful)

——————————–

Make 2009 The Best Year Ever!

1. Reflection of 2008

Learn from the past. This part allows you to see what happened and how to take this year to the next level.

Before you begin any of these exercises, make sure you are peaceful & relaxed and just write down exactly what comes to your mind. Don’t analyze, just write it down.

See the whole of 2008 before you – meditate on the highs and lows of the year, feel it, see it, explore it…

• In 2008 what 20% of my time brought me maximum happiness, success and fulfillment?

• In 2008 what 20% of my time brought me most stress, unhappiness, waste and discontentment?

• What 3 things did I achieve/manifest that I am happy about in 2008?

• What 3 things do you wish you had done in 2008?

• What are your 3 main lessons in 2008?

• What 3 things do I want to let go of (thoughts, actions, people etc) that will allow me to live my dreams in 2009?

Reflection: Look at your answers.

Underline the MAIN 3 things that have held you back.
Underline the MAIN 3 things that have made you feel great!
————————————————

2. Finish 2008 – let go of the old!

Look at your list. Now, on a separate piece of paper, write down 3 things about yourself or your life that you want to let go of. Realise how much these things are trapping you and how good it will feel to be free from them.

(if you can, physically burn that piece of paper – watch it turn to ash….let it go…)
Reflection:

How will my life feel now these are gone?
What new opportunities are available for me now I have this new freedom?

PAST IS PAST. TOTAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE YEAR AS GETTING YOU WHERE YOU ARE TODAY.
NOW USE 2009 IN A WORTHWHILE WAY.
————————————————

3. NEW VISION for 2009

On a new sheet of paper write the answers to the following: This is your new vision, T´this is the life you want to live, this is what your were born for. Get ready to ground your new vision and allow it to land in your life.
Remember to be relaxed, open and receptive to the answers.

THINK BIG – ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

• Based on 2008 experience, What 3 (or more) things do you WANT TO
DO
BE
HAVE
In 2009?

(Dream big…)

• What 20% activities do you have to do to bring you the experience you want?

(Most important /critical things for your success)

• Based on 2008 experience, What 3 things (or more) do you HAVE TO AVOID/REMOVE IN 2009?

• What 20% activities do you have to avoid to bring you the experience you want?

(Most important /critical things for your success)

Reflection:

If ALL you did in 2009 was the things on the list (BE,DO) would you be happy)?
How will you overcome your weaknesses and things that stop you from being who you were born to be?

————————————————

4. PRACTICAL PLAN

BEST DAY EVER = BEST YEAR EVER!

To live the best year ever, we need to live 365 best days ever
and every moment of every day needs to be the best ever…
Make use of all you have learned to create the best day ever – starting NOW!!!

VISION for your ideal day…

(Be unlimited and also practical about you situation as it is today)
Morning Program
- In your ideal morning, what activities would you do to give you power / happiness / joy?

Afternoon
- In your ideal afternoon, what activities would you do to What gives you power / happiness / joy?

Evening
- In your ideal evening, what activities would you do to What gives you power / happiness / joy?

Reflection:
If all you did with your day was the things on this list, would you be totally fulfilled?

Action:
Underline the 20% on the list that you can do NOW – and make sure you start this from tomorrow!
Take all your answers and create a ‘vision board’. Put all the answers (about what you want to do – not what you want to avoid) on the board and add images to match. Look at this morning and evening and feel it.

Make sure you DO the things that you need to do and STOP the ones that harm you.

Only you can do this – so have the love for yourself to get on with it from now. Inspire others to do the same and this will in turn help you to do it yourself.

Take care and enjoy the best year ever!

Change Your Life: Free Meditation Timer

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

I have to say that to maintain a state of constant ease and grace, nothing compares to stopping and taking a step back into eternity on a regular basis.

After over 10 years of spiritual practice, I have come to realize that life is a moment to moment experience, a second by second awareness and nothing helps me maintain a high state of consciousness better than regular breaks where I can settle back into peace.

For this, the most effective thing I have found (since I spend a considerable amount of time on the computer) is to have a ‘meditation timer’ going off regularly – reminding me to stop and consider the deeper things in life…

I have included the links here for you to download this free software yourself. Personally, I found every 20 minutes is an ideal interval between bells, as I can see how much I am aware of the more unlimited aspects of life during that period and it also allows me to see how productive I have been.

A huge fan of the 80/20 principle I love to make sure my time is actually spent in a worthwhile way both in terms of feeling wonderful at every moment (main priority) and also getting tasks done with ease, grace and total efficiency.

By having a nice Tibetan bowl sound every 20 minutes, I am able to remain in the zone, have consistently wonderful days and produce high quality, powerful and enjoyable work.

When I forget to turn on the timer for whatever reason, I find my day is comparatively wasted and considerably less enjoyable. The difference is of day and night.

If you would like to try this practice for yourself, download some of this FREE software below. You can, of course, use it as an actual meditation timer – which is what it was originally designed for!

You may find that every hour works better for you or whatever. Try it and find out for yourself.

Take it to the next level

Another powerful tool that takes this practice to the next level is to listen to some beautiful 60 second meditations every hour. This is a project I was involved with in 2006 and I can’t recommend it enough. There are 20 1-minute meditations that you can put on your ipod or computer and play them every hour.

If you have an ipod, you can create alarms so they play automatically. It’s a bit fiddly, but it’s worth it if you’re a bit tech savvy. It’s a beautiful experience to glide effortlessly into sweet meditation without doing anything…

You can download these powerful meditations below for free. Enjoy
